Willow Creek Vineyard Petrichor Chardonnay

Rare Hare Willow Creek Vineyard Petrichor Chardonnay is a single site wine, made with fruit handpicked from Willow Creek Vineyard's coolest Chardonnay block.

Petrichor is the earthy aroma of rain as it falls on soil. The cool corner of Willow Creek Vineyard that produces this wine is where the scent lingers the longest.

The grapes are whole bunch pressed to retain their pristine fruit characters and minimize phenolic extraction. The juice is then transferred to French oak barrels, a small proportion new.

After fermentation, the wine matures on lees with monthly stirring.

Pale straw, Rare Hare Willow Creek Vineyard Petrichor Chardonnay has white stone fruit flavours, citrus acidity and toasty oak. Cellaring potential is five years.
